====== How to use the SD Card feature on the Azteeg X3 with the Bukobot ====== To use the SD card feature **without a USB connection** (otherwise no need to do this step) to the Azteeg X3 board, you need to change a jumper to switch the power source of the main chip to use the 12v power supply labeled as "INT". This is found by removing the top cover sheild carefully and changing the power jumper from USB to INT. {{:bukobotv2:img_3039.jpg?direct&400|}}{{:bukobotv2:img_3040.jpg?direct&400|}} ===== Step 1 - Generate your G-Code ===== Start by generating your G-code file from Repetier Host or directly from Slic3r and save it to your computer. **Filenaming is important!** Currently, you can only use 8 character + 3 extension naming system and avoid using spaces and special symbols. Example of good filenames: "3Dobject.gco" or "print001.g" To setup "Auto Start" on SD card, the Marlin firmware has a built-in feature to automatically start a print job (g-code file) if the file is named: "auto0.g" ===== Step 2 - Copy G-code File to micro SD card using your computer. ===== Format an microSD card using FAT16. The board will not recongize more than 1gb or memory, so any card under 4gb should work fine. Keep in mind that the newer "HC" may not work. Once you have your G-code file saved on your computer, copy the file directly on to the microSD card using an SD card reader attached to your computer. It's NOT recommend to transfer files to the SD card while mounted to the Azteeg X3 board because of extremely slow tranfer rates (USB 1.0 speeds) and may take a long time. ===== Step 3 - Start G-code ===== After inserting the mircoSD card into the Azteeg X3 board, you have 2 options to start running the G-code: 1 - If you named your file "auto0.g", then simply turning on or resetting your Bukobot 3D printer should begin the print. 2 - If you connect through Repetier or Pronterface, you can bring up the SD card manager and select the file from a list to start.
