Not only does the lack of heating platform required with other plastics reduce energy costs on Bukobot 8 Green, but the parts that it prints and the parts that it is made of are easy to recycle. PLA is also a stiffer plastic than ABS, which is perfect for mechanical parts. And, in the process of printing the cornstarch-based PLA, Bukobot makes a sweet popcorn smell to please your nose.
